Secrets to catering food in Green Bay, Renard's

3 Ways We Ensure Your Catered Food Arrives Delicious Anywhere In Green Bay

During a tasting, one of the questions our staff gets most often is about the broasted chicken. It’s not where the chicken came from or the number of calories per serving. It’s about how we can ensure it will stay crispy for their guests. We understand completely. Here at Renard’s, we’ve made an art of keeping food fresh and delicious from the moment it’s prepared in our Green Bay kitchen to the moment it’s available to our client’s hungry guests. Read on for some of catered food secrets.

An hour max travel time

One of the ways Renard’s ensures food is hot and delicious is limiting our travel distance. For the most part, we only cater food at venues within an hour of Green Bay (although some exceptions do exist, so call if you have questions).

The reason we only travel an hour is to ensure your menu choices stay hot if they should be hot, and cold, if they should be cold. Hot food is always the last food item packed into our catering vans in hot boxes. Once we get to the venue, it’s the first thing removed and placed in warming ovens.

Renards Hot Broasted Chicken Stays CrispServed just before dinner

Once the hot food is in the warming ovens, we work on set up and food presentation. Our staff makes catered food look amazing and really add to whatever Green Bay event your are hosting, be it a wedding, corporate function, shower or celebration of life.

Our staff doesn’t set out the hot food until 15 minutes before dinner actually starts. That way we are ensuring the food is closed and hot for as long as possible.

Working with venues

Renard’s has a great relationship with many event venues around Green Bay, which helps us ensure food arrives delicious to guests. For example, Black Sheep and Ledgecrest both will call us the week of an event to check-in. They want to have what we need, exactly as we want it. This means enough cooler space set aside for our food, as well as tables set up according to our preferences.

Even upcoming Green Bay venues, such as the Barn at Sunset, are working with us. The architects have reached out and met with Renard’s several times to get professional catering recommendations. They want to ensure Renard’s has exactly the food set up equipment needed to provide delicious catered food to this soon to be Green Bay event facility.

We take great care in delivering amazing catered food to our customers, no matter what they are celebrating in the Green Bay area. That’s why we established practices for food traveling and how it is served at events. It helped make our catering business stand out in Green Bay, and let us assure our customers that the broasted chicken will indeed have a delicious crunch. Tips for Green Bay Couples with a Holiday Wedding

Holidays are joyous occasions. Family and friends gather. Food is passed around. When paired with a Green Bay wedding, it can be even more fun. Based on Green Bay holiday weddings we’ve catered, here are some tips and tricks to successfully bring holiday cheer into your wedding theme.

Add themed table decorations

Buffet and appetizer tables are a perfect place to showcase the holiday theme at your Green Bay wedding. Start by choosing an appropriate linens color. We offer a variety of different color linens to suit the holiday and overall wedding theme. Think black for a Halloween themed wedding or Red/Green for Christmas. We will cover the table and food stands with the color(s) to ensure a professional, uniform look.

Along with the right linens, it is important to add other elements that represent the holiday. Home decor signs from Green Bay area stores are perfect. A cute saying or festive statue can set just the mood and transform an ordinary serving table. Don’t be afraid to talk to your Renard’s event coordinator about your decor thoughts. They are ready and able to “cater” to your decorating whims.

Choose seasonal food

A Green Bay holiday wedding can be a great time to deviate from the traditional wedding catering menu. Choose foods that would usually be served on the holiday you are incorporating, such as serving turkey at a Thanksgiving-themed wedding. If you don’t want to change the main courses, bring the holiday flavors in with appetizers and desserts, like peppermint for Christmas.

As Green Bay catering experts, we know that catering success does not just rely on how food tastes, but also how it looks. Push your holiday theme to the next level by ordering platters that look like traditional holiday icons, such as mixed fruit arranged to look like a turkey, ideal for Thanksgiving themed weddings. We offer a number of creative holiday platters or let us know how we can work with you on something unique.

Keep the theme going

To optimize the holiday theme in your wedding catering, ensure the colors, flavors, and images are represented in every course. Everything from the appetizers to the main course, to the dessert should include one or more elements of your holiday wedding theme. A valentine’s day wedding, for example, might include chocolate covered strawberries, red potatoes in a cream sauce to go with the main course, and heart-shaped cookies to compliment dessert.

Catering to your holiday wedding needs is what we do best. So if you need a Green Bay caterer ready and willing to make your wedding extra special, contact Renard’s at 920-432-6116. Our event coordinators are ready and able to assist in creating a spectacular holiday themed wedding in Green Bay.

Fun Catering Jobs Green Bay

Benefits of Working for a Green Bay Caterer

There are many reasons to consider a career in catering. Here are just a few that might be of interest to potential catering cooks and catering servers in the Green Bay area.

Variety, from food to experience

Doing the same old thing can get boring. Catering offers something different each and every day. From desserts to entrees, there’s always something new to prepare for catering cooks. We encourage our staff to experiment with recipes. Create a new soup with seasonal ingredients or add a spicy flavor to traditional seasoning. There is so much room to grow in your cooking skills. Never cooked in a kitchen before? No worries. We’ll train you how a catering kitchen works and what to expect.
Catering servers get to experience variety in the events and locations they visit. Servers get to work at the best Green Bay special occasion venues. Beautiful parks, banquet halls, pubs, and supper clubs – servers go to them all. Personal vehicles are not required. All servers meet at our Green Bay warehouse and travel together to an event.
There is also plenty of opportunity to experience different types of events. From the energy level to the occasion being celebrated, no Green Bay catering occasion is ever the same.

Alternative hours, and no pressure

Can’t or don’t want to work 8 to 5, Monday through Friday? Green Bay catering offers a career with a different schedule. Catering cook shifts are typically Wednesday through Sunday. Hours vary, but it’s always day work, being done between 2pm and 4pm. Plus, there’s no short order work. Gone is the pressure to make every entrée in a tight time schedule with a customer watching your every move. Cooks make whatever is necessary that day without the pressure of a restaurant.

While cooks work during the day, that might not be a good fit for you. Students, stay-at-home parents, and others might prefer to work weekend evenings to earn their money. Our catering server opportunity could be the perfect option. Servers Friday and Saturday evening mostly. There is no experience necessary. We’ll train you on everything you need to know.

Inspire happiness, get recognition

As caterers, we believe food makes Green Bay weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, and other special events even better. Catering servers experience this first hand as they serve the carefully prepared food and talk to guests. They see the difference not worrying about the food can make on hosts and how the right food can liven up a party.
Many of our customers are so happy with our catering service, they leave us a review. When our management team sees one, they immediately send it around the company. They will even call out the team member(s) that made the event outstanding. That could be service, or it could be in the kitchen with a new recipe. Either way, we love recognizing the great work our employees are doing and take every opportunity to highlight it.

How Covid-19 Affected Caterers in Green Bay

how-covid-19-affected-caterers-in-green-bay

It’s great to be back at events. What a year it’s been! At Renard’s, we certainly felt the impact of Covid-19 as events were postponed or done in a small way that did not need catering. Like many businesses in Green Bay, we adapted as best we could. With the summer of 2021 well underway, we find we are still adapting. Covid-19 has changed our business in different ways, some of which we didn’t expect.

Boom of Weddings

We knew some brides and grooms would postpone their weddings in order to include family and friends (and good food), but we didn’t expect these huge numbers. We are booking multiple weddings each weekend. Don’t misunderstand our surprise as a complaint. We absolutely love being a part of a couple’s wedding and we strive to make it as delicious an experience as possible. To prospective brides and grooms, we offer two different, yet delectable wedding menus (as well as menus for nearly all caterable occasions). Fingers crossed this wedding boom continues, as the happy faces of all in attendance are proof we can endure anything in Green Bay, even a pandemic.

Menu Changes

One of the unforeseen changes to our business was the challenge of sourcing fresh ingredients. There were many food suppliers we had partnerships with that weren’t able to weather the loss of business during Covid-19. As a result, they shut their doors. Luckily, we had strong relationships with a wide variety of suppliers, so there were others we could turn to for assistance. Some items we still could not get, so we have altered our menus. Don’t worry. The menus are still filled with plenty of high quality entrees and desserts.

Covid-19 Changes Menus for Green Bay CaterersPrice Increases

Likely due to the problems food suppliers have had over the past year, costs have increased for many of the ingredients we use in our dishes. In response, we were forced to raise our own prices. Turning to lower quality, cheaper ingredients just wasn’t an option. Our customers have high standards and so do we. They allow us to be part of their special event, and we want to make it even better with the food we serve. It’s been that way since our company’s beginning.

Hiring Frenzy

On a positive note, the rebound in weddings and scheduling of special events this summer means we are hiring! We need friendly, team oriented people to join the best catering company in Green Bay. Take a look at our careers site to find the positions we are currently seeking, and even apply.

We are sure that as the year unfolds, more changes will arise, but for now we are happy to be back. Our customers drive us to be the best in Green Bay, and we relish the opportunity to be with them again. If you have an event you would like catered, give Renard’s Catering a call at 920-432-6116.

Corporate event catering in Green Bay

How to Restore Corporate Morale in Green Bay

Corporate event catering in Green BayAs Green Bay employees return to work, many companies are struggling to restore a culture of collaboration and communication that was weakened by the stress and remote working over the past year. One of the best ways to reconnect employees with each other and the company mission is to host an employee appreciation event. Whether it’s a fresh food lunch on the company one Friday or a company-wide BBQ, Renard’s Catering can help get employees sharing, collaborating, and attaining full productivity again for your Green Bay business.

Start with team-building

Food brings people together. We see this every time we cater a wedding, graduation party, corporate mixer, anniversary party, or other special event. You can use food to bring a sense of camaraderie back to your Green Bay office. Encourage your team to mingle and talk over a prepared lunch of gourmet wraps and sandwiches. Get an inspiring presenter for the lunch to make it an extra special event or have a well-spoken member of the executive staff give a rousing speech about where the company is headed and how everyone has a part to play. This will unify your Green Bay staff and give them a shared purpose. Plus, they won’t be distracted by hunger pains when they go back to work.

Cheer Green Bay Employees With a Pig RoastTake it outside

As the weather in Green Bay turns towards Summer, your employees are no doubt eating outside as often as possible. It gives us fresh air and the sunshine feels great, especially when eating something delicious. Take this to the next level and cater a corporate event outside, even before the annual company picnic. Renard’s offers a full grilling menu, from whole roasted pigs to burgers and brats. When looking at the menu, keep in mind various diet restrictions as well, such as the vegetarians or white-meat only eaters among your Green Bay staff. For those, we offer a variety of salad options, roasted corn, jerk chicken, salmon dogs, and a lot more. We believe in offering a mix of traditional and trendy grillable items and sides in order to satisfy even the most discerning catering customer.

Enhance the break room

While a professionally catered corporate event can kick-start collaboration for your Green Bay business, what about the day-to-day? That is where our sister company BE’S Refreshments, might be able to help. From vending machines filled with brand name products to micro-markets that act like a mini store in the break room, they can keep the networking going through onsite nourishment.
Not all businesses thrived with remote employees, although we all did our best to make it work. For the Green Bay businesses bringing staff back and looking to get productivity back on track, give Renard’s a call. We love bringing people together with food, which will do wonders for your bottom line. Contact Renard’s today at 920.432.6116 or email us at renardscatering@sbcglobal.net.
